Braided Rose Bun Tutorial

By Makenna Ashley

This hairstyle is one of my absolute faves for a date night, or girls night out. It adds the perfect amount of feminine touch, paired with some loose waves and you're set!

Step 1: Style your hair. I chose to do loose waves for this look, you could also do it with straight or curlier hair.

Step 2: Back comb the crown portion of your hair. This will help give it volume. I also like to hairspray this portion of hair for an extra hold, but this is optional.

Step 3: Using a clear elastic, put your hair half up. It's important to use a clear elastic for this part, because it will hide much easier when we twist the braid around. Also, this is the part you'll want to adjust your volume and take out any pieces you want framing your face.

Step 4: Braid the top section of hair. Try to braid all the way down to the ends. The less you have sticking out at the end, the easier it will be to tuck away.

Step 5: Pull out pieces in braid for added texture. Also known as pancaking, you'll want to tug at these pieces to make your braid not only thicker but give it that extra round-ness when making it into a "flower."

Step 6: Start wrapping and securing the braid into a circle. I prefer to go clockwise, but either way will do just fine! I ended up using four bobby pins, pinning each section as it turned.

Step 7: Tuck the unbraided portion of hair underneath the braided part. Use a bobby pin to secure.

Step 8: Hairspray your hair to hold in place

And, wa-la! Throw on a floral dress, and you're all set for your date night or girls night out! Use the hashtags #makennaashleyhair and #cashmerehair so we can see your recreations! xo
